Job Description

The chef assistant has to ensure that all ingredients are available for the chef so that he/she can cook without any interruption or delay. Provides high customer satisfaction and timeliness at all times.

Ensure clean cooking utensils, chopped ingredients and clean work areas so that the chef can get right down to work. He or she has to make sure that order plates are aesthetically arranged and that the portions are accurate.

Moreover, the chef assistant has to support the restaurant team in managing the administrative aspects of running excellent kitchens.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Organized – with check lists always available, and processes to keep everything around running smoothly
  • Positive, cheery and always upbeat - can convey positive energy and warmth instantly
  • Ultimate team player; always wants to help out and there is no job too big or too small
  • Calm under pressure, knows how to prioritize and get things done, and persevere through all challenges with a smile
  • Always looking to improve one self and the processes
  • Open and honest; gives and receives feedback and action on it
  • Able to build strong rapport with team members and strangers instantly, earning trust quickly

    • Education and Experience

  • College graduate, preferably Culinary Art or related field.
  • With professional kitchen experience; apprenticeships available
  • At least 1 year relevant work experience
